Hello from Bethani

Hello my wonderful friends and family. The first time I was feeling well enough to get online I was floored when I saw all of the messages on the blog. I laughed and cried at the same time, it felt so good. Words can not express how thankful I feel to have so many family and friends so genuinely concerned for me. The prayers that went up for me were more than I will ever know. All of you have been so supportive to my husband and little Wyatt, thank you. So many of you have financially blessed us. I don't know what we would do with out all of your help. The doctors have told me that I will have some good and some bad days during my recovery, and I have already experienced many of those, but my God has been so faithful. Sister Rash called my father the other day and said that she had a dream that she stayed up with me all night covering me with blankets because I was cold. She said she didn't know why she had the dream but to tell us about it. My parents, Brian and I feel very strongly that it represents a prayer covering over me at this time in my life. I know that your prayers are helping me to be strong through all of this. My God is so faithful.

I had a wonderful Thanksgiving! What a day to be truly thankful. My appetite was good and I was able to enjoy everything. All of the swelling in my body has gone down and my scar is healing well. I'm still not able to stand up strait, but I'm walking and climbing stairs daily. My blood pressure and temp are normal every morning. And the doctor has cut back some of my medication. Thank you Jesus. Tomorrow Brian and I will be in San Francisco for my first doctor's check up. We are looking forward to a good report. I will let everyone know whats new as soon as I can. But once again I want to say thank you for everything. Please continue to pray for Brian and I and write me. It is a highlight in my day. I love all of you so much. Thank God for the miracle he is performing in me.

It was so nice to have an update from you Bethani! We are so happy that all of our prayers continue to be answered. To tell you the truth I had this super long comment all typed out because I really wanted to express how much your situation has changed my life (like I know it has changed so many others). However, Sam said "Yeah, your going to want to cut that down some because that is a little long." So I will just say this...Your situation has made me triple the amount of hugs, kisses, cuddles, loves and everything else with my kids and my husband. It makes you realize that it could honestly happen to ANYONE! Again, we love you guys and miss you so much. We wish you were still here so we could see you all the time. Wyatt is a doll, and I am glad we got to see a few pictures of him.

With our love and our continued prayers,

Sam & Sharla Ogden

Bethani,
I am so happy to hear of all the good reports. I am amazed at everything that has happened in the last month. God is a good God- through everything. I have always looked up to you since I was a little tiny girl, and I picked the right person to watch. You have been through so much and still you hold your head high. I know you have you bad days, but you are still victorious. I love you and all of your family very much. Still praying, SarahAnne

Bethani,
GOD IS GOOD!!!!
His hand is upon you and your family.(I am sure this is not news to you, ha ha).
We will pray that your doctors will be amazed at your progress.

I taught you 4 years in the high school Sunday School class. You were always tender and sensitive to God. You have a great young man in Brian. You are both going to be wonderful tools in the hands of the Lord.
God will sustain you and your family. He NEVER fails.
We praise God for what he has already done in your life. I am waiting to see what God has in store for you and Brian down the road.
Ps 46:10&11 Be still, and know that I am God:....I will be exhalted in the earth.
The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

We love you and continue to pray,

Kirk Buster & Family

Bethani,

It is absolutely wonderful to hear from you! I am very happy that your Thanksgiving was enjoyable. I thought about you and all the family all day and we spoke of you often, giving thanks for God's blessings. You will probably never know how far-reaching the effects of your illness and miraculous surgery and recovery are. I don't think anyone who knows about it will ever be the same.

I love you all so much!

Bethani,

I am sure that there have been many times that you have rolled your eyes when your husband started fretting over his fantasy football team...or as my wife and daughters call it..."Fairy Tale Football". However, please know that while we are a pain to our wives and family with our love of Fairy Tale Football, many of us have been keeping track of your progress and you and your family have been in our prayers. Please know that we will continue to pray for you and we have faith that God will give you a full recovery.

Just so you know, I caused a big fuss on the I-80, and they're now going to work double-time to get that Bay Bridge running up to par. It's amazing what showing up with a clipboard and claiming you're the bridge's designer will accomplish.

On another note. I've learned that showing up to jury duty with a shirt that says "Pick Me" in block letters doesn't quite invoke the folksy reaction I was aiming for.

Dearest Bethani,
Thank you for telling us about the dream that Sis Rash had concerning you. It touched me deeply and I too believe you are being covered with prayers during this vulnerable time. The fact that God has brought you this far in your recovery is so amazing to me. He truly is Wonderful!
We enjoyed having Sis Bishop in church with us on Sunday and hearing such good reports. My family loves you & Brian & your family so much, words cannot express.
Brian, I wish the best for you and your little family. Truly, Jesus has his hand upon you three and has orchestrated this for his glory. It is a privilege to help hold up the hands of God's ministers.
Keep us posted when you feel that you are able and may God bless you over and over.
With much love, Sis Perry

Bethani!! We were so glad to see the update!! I watch in daily now, it was about ever 10 minutes for a week there!! What can we say except what what a God we serve! I know the days will be long ahead, but what beautiful days they will be with Brian and Wyatt! Brian's heart just has to be full! You have touched all of our lives in the last few weeks!! The Kingdom has once again shown their great love and support! We in the Hill household and our church at Pentecostal Tabernacle, Kerman have and will continue to hold you up!! It war really cute a couple of weeks ago when our assistant pastor requested prayer for "Sis. Bishop." I immediately thought, "Oh, dear Lord, what has happened with Sis. Bishop in the middle of Bethani's ordeal. I looked at Adam on the drums and he had that goofy embarrased grin that you know, and I realized that the brother meant Sis. Roam. I was relieved but was grinning when he went into a long prayer for "Sis. Bishop!"

We sure love you guys! Stephen Susan, & Cherish Hill

Bethani,

Hello Luv! I am so glad to hear about your recovery. I feel badly that Nate and I didn't make it down to "see you" while you were in San Francisco. We spent Thanksgiving with Robin and Mark, and Bob and Paula! We thought of you alot. How fun it would have been to have had you all there as well. You would be so proud, I was a cook happy Betty Crocker! Who says our generation of women can't cook =). When you start feeling better, let me know, and we can arrange to meet with you on one of your visits to SF.
Again, I am so proud of you, and so glad that you are doing so well. God is so good!
I love you and miss you,

Hi Bethani ~
I'm glad you were able to enjoy your Thanksgiving meal! I missed seeing the updates there for a while. Naomi did hear from you though so I was happy to get an update from her. I don't know if she told you but both Dillon and Solomon are walking a little bit. I called Naomi to tell her Dillon was walking on Saturday. And then not to be outdone by "a girl" Solomon started walking the next day.
Love you, miss you, praying for you! Pictures! Pictures! Pictures. We need them. Girl you looked good in the Hospital when I saw you. I'm sure you look great now! If I was there you know I would have my camera out taking tons of pictures.

Bethani,
Do you realize how much of an impact your little visit to SRMC made on our staff? Everyday someone asks about you, comments about this site, and follows up their questions with statements about how special you and your family are. (Our family agrees!!) Today was the first time I've seen the MD that sent you to UCSF, and he will never forget you, either! I would guess there are hundreds of people checking up on you through this site that never even write!
Your experiences and progress is so encouraging. It continues to stand as a testimony of our Lord's mercy and miracles. Take it from me, as I'll take the liberty and speak for hundreds of others, that your continued postings to this site are eagerly anticipated! You have been given a much needed ministry all of your own, the facets of which aren't even realized yet. You are going to have an strong, fruitful, long and healthy life that will reach many different people because of what you have overcome, and will continue, to experience. Your's is a very special story, Bethani, and God picked a very special woman to deliver it!
Well, my little friend, in the meantime rest up, continue your recovery (yes, the good days and the bad) and keep writing when you feel up to it. We check everyday for more of your story.

I'll love you forever, and pray for you always,
Nicole G

P.S. Keeping your own private journal with your perspectives, joys, fears, and talks with Jesus will help you out when you write that book we all are lining up to buy!

Hey chicklett,
Well - I know the very worst part of your recovery is behind you, but I still understand (more than you know) how much recovery you still face. You probably say to yourself "no one has any idea what I am going through" and that's true. Surgery has a way of wiping a person out in so many aspects and I have thought of so many little things that you are going through on the road back to healthy....and its not an easy road, but you will make it, I promise! Your mind probably races with the why's and what-iff's and its normal. So hard to figure out what God has in store when you face physical & emotional tragedy. I know you are in a fragile state with your immune system....so please dont feel any pressure, but I would love to see you when you feel up to it. And if you dont feel up to it for a few months - I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND. My heart goes out to you and Brian - I know this wasnt in your holiday plans - LOL! I love you very much. Call me anytime - 227-9283 or text me.
xoxo
