Good News!

According to the Liver Team Bethani's labs are getting better. Her main liver #'s are going down which means the anti rejection medication is working! This is the news we have been hoping for. Also if her numbers continue to trend downward then they will not have to put the camera down her stomach and check the bile duct. We thank God for this wonderful news!

She has endured 2 very difficult days in which she has gone through a biopsy, and lung draining procedures. Last night the doctors noticed her oxygen level was a little low and so they had to drain fluid from her right lung. This was not an easy procedure but necessary for her oxygen level. They where able to drain 2 liters of fluid off her right lung.

Where to from here?
Now the plan is to put a feeding tube in some time today so they can get her some much needed nutrition. This too has been difficult for Bethani to accept, however it might just help her with the nausea problems that she has been having as well as strength for recovering.

Your prayers are definitely helping us through this crazy time, please continue to pray that this nausea subsides enough to eat and keep meds down and lastly pray that we get a complete recovery from this rejection.

My sweet little wife is in a lot of pain. Please pray for her.

Bethani and I are looking forward to our first Christmas with our son Wyatt!

with much love,

Brian, Bethani, & the "little man"

Oh praise God. I pray that you feel the arms of the Lord around you Bethani. He loves you sweetie as we all do. I check this blog all day long when I'm home. You are still always on my mind with a whisper of prayer from my lips in my daily task when I'm not on my knees. A good part of my day is devoted to prayer for you and the family.....as I know there is prayer going up all the time from everywhere. What a great family of God we have in each other.
Well, I'm headed over to Richie's and Sandy's right now. And I know you will be the topic of our conversation. Oh WOW, Sandy is having fun playing Gramma to Wyatt. Sheree and Britt can't stay away form him, and Richie adores him. We all love you Bethani,Brian, and Wyatt and the family. We are holding you up in prayer Bro. & Sis Bishop, and all the family too.

Bethani, don't worry about the feeding tube--it's a good thing.

Because I don't want to fully indict him, he shall remain nameless, but I can't resist giving one hint: he is very close to me.

Thirteen years ago because of an injury, he could not eat for a total of three months--had a couple of feeding tubes. Now he is fully recovered and can eat anything he desires. Sometimes when he wants to eat 2nds (or 3rds) and someone looks askance at him, he replies, "Well, you know I didn't eat anything for three months." We smile and remember he was been making up for that three month period for 13 years now. :)

One day you will smile again, and eat, and be healthy. Lots of prayer and love being shuttled your way. It's bound to work.

This old chorus helped me through a real dfficult time in the hospital several years ago. As I was praying for you today it flooded my heart again. Remember...He is as close as the whisper of His name.

"Jesus is the sweetest name I know
and he's just the same
as his lovely name
That's the reason why I love him so
Jesus is the sweetest name I know."

Love you!

I"m sorry I have not written in this blog for some time.Ive just been at a loss for words, if you all who know me can believe that. LOL It is true. I feel so much compassion and as a mama of 4, I"m just wanting to fix the owie. It is so hard for me not to just say"ok sis. Bishop you know what to do, just kiss it and make it better in JESUS NAME" Only Jesus can kiss this owie and I do believe he will sis.
Just know that my family has been faithfully praying for your family Bethani, and if ever there were a time to be there for my sister, I am here. If there is anything you guys need, Sam and I will be here to jump at the opportunity to bless you:) We love you so very much and the thought of the pain you are having to endure just AMAZES me, because even a fluffy mamma like me cannot watch as my blood is being drawn.LOL You are a tough cookie and I do admire your strength. ok now, my advice......... I know I know, Mrs. know it all, here we go again....LOL I am a mom so I have to always put my two sense in.. When you are at a weak moment sis, have Brian read these blogs to you. I have NEVER read more encouraging words ( except of course in the word) in all my life. You have more support than I have ever seen, so many people who love you. And if Ron doesn't make you bust a stitch...Sis. Allard will LOL We love you guys and like everyone else we are praying for you guys.

Much love, Janelle and clan

This is such AWESOME news. Thank you soooo much Brian for keeping us updated while you all are in S.F.

I know this is a hard time for everyone....My thoughts this evening are especially with Bro and Sis Bishop and you. I have been praying for the Lord to renew your strength daily. I don't ever do this, but I really feel like the Lord showed me this passage for you all.

Psalms 63:1-8
1 O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
2 I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory.
3 Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.
4 I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.
5 My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
6 On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night.
7 Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.
8 My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.

May the Lord Bless you all each day and bring you to the end of this valley soon.

I love you all soooo much. HUGS, HUGS AND LOTS MORE HUGS. Cori

Thank the Lord for the good news...I know this has got to be so hard on Bethani but somehow, for whatever reason, God has a purpose for this...not that He wants her (and you) to suffer, but He really has a great plan for her and this is just part of the journey. Lots of aloha & prayers for you...

Bethani,
Okay girl - if you are gonna re-build that flat bootie then you are gonna have to eat - LOL!!! I can imagine that you are starting to dread the doctors next idea or plan to "fix" you. You poor thing! Well if you want to hide from the doctors and the nurses for a while - just hit the stairwell! Most of them are pretty lazy and usually take the elevator - LOL. Im sure it's getting pretty old livin at the hospital - cant blame you a bit! Well I wish you would hurry up and feel better so I can come over and veg out with you (bring some new entertainment)!!!!
love you - tell God you expect a huge crown when you get to heaven for all of this nonsense!!! LOL!
