Home for the Holidays

My Dear friends,

I am so thankful to be out of the hospital. This last venture to the hospital lasted 16 days. We are currently in Carson City NV staying with my sister Denise Bobo and enjoying the comforts of their home. We were able to celebrate a late Christmas together with my family and if felt so good. I'm still very weak and shaky from this last treatment and currently weigh 110 lbs on my 5'8' frame, so I'm very skinny. But my family is working on fattening me up. And I'm trying to exercise to build my muscle tone back. I've taken myself off of my pain meds, sleeping pills and anxiety medication. I refuse to become dependent on them. Nightime insomnia is a real challenge but I'm working through it. Well I'm very thankful to be enjoying the new year. Having a liver transplant has changed my life forever. I take nothing for granted anymore. I'm so thankful for every morning that I wake up next to my husband and get to hold my beautiful little boy. God is so good to me. Brian and I are enjoying this blog so much! You are so supportive and such an encouragement. We will continue to keep everyone posted on anything new that comes up. Please continue to pray for our family as we take one day at a time. We love all of you.

You must be doing great, to be so far from your doctors...I bet your getting lots of snow too. Were even getting snow here in TX. Well you do what Denise tells you and get lots of rest! Drink those milkshakes and give all the family a big hello and hug from the McNeelys. We love you and pray for all of you everyday.

I heard that if you eat enough philly cheesesteak sandwiches, you'll inadvertently start writing in purple font.

Dear Bethani,
Since you're at Denise's house, tell her to make you some of Grandma's party mix and our stuffed mushrooms. That should get you back on your feet and bring back great memories!!!!!

HEY BETHANI,
THANKS FOR THE UPDATE - COOL PIX TOO! YOU LOOK LIKE A PROFESSIONAL PATIENT - PRETTY HOT IN THAT HOSPITAL GOWN!
SINCE YOU ONLY HAVE 200+ PEOPLE OFFERING THEIR ADVICE - I AM GONNA ADD MY 2 CENTS FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.....TAKE IT FOR WHAT ITS WORTH....DANNY HATED BEING ON A MILLION MEDICINES AFTER SURGERY TOO AS THERE ARE BRUTAL SIDE EFFECTS TO EVERY "HELPFUL" PILL. HOWEVER, YOUR BODY DESPERATELY NEEDS SLEEP AS MUCH AS IT NEEDS NUTRITION! SO IF YOU CANT BEAT THE INSOMNIA THEN TAKE THE SLEEPING PILL! YOUR BODY IS IN SERIOUS RECOVERY MODE AND NOT SLEEPING WILL ONLY PROLONG THE HEALING AND THE FULL RECOVERY THAT YOU WANT. I ONLY CARE AND THAT'S WHY I AM SAYING - DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET GOOD REST. SLEEPING ALLOWS YOUR BODY TO REBUILD!!!!!
DEFINITELY WATCHING YOU GO THROUGH THIS HAS TAUGHT ME NOT TO TAKE THINGS FOR GRANTED....I LOVE YOU AND I HOPE YOU START FEELING HEALTHY SOON.
ON A LIGHTER NOTE....I BETCHA THAT ALL OF YOUR GIRLFRIENDS WHO FAITHFULLY WRITE TO YOU ON THIS BLOG (INCLUDING MYSELF) WOULD GLADLY DONATE 10 POUNDS OF FAT TO YOUR SKINNY FRAME!!! LOL!!! AND OF COURSE - THE HEALTHIER YOU EAT, THE QUICKER YOU WILL GET STRONG....YAH LIKE THAT WAS ROCKET SCIENCE HUH!!! HAHA

Another thing that you could drink besides ensure shakes to get your strength back is Odwalla Superfood. You can get it at Costco (in the big jugs - much cheaper that way) or Safeway, Raley's etc. It's packed full of wheat grass, fruit juices, spirunella, etc., and all kinds of natural source vitamins. Very easy on the stomach also and it tastes good!

Bethani,

You are a beautiful, young lady, and I have been blessed by your wonderful positive attitude. I know you have endured much, but I believe that through this blog(and the prayers of God's people, of course)you have not only received strength, but you have given strength as well. I have read on several different blogs how people have been encouraged by your attitude in this time of trial.

We will continue to pray for you and your family.
